Basic Necessities

I am saddened by the news that drug-enforcing officers were killed in a failed bust to a drug syndicate. It seems more depressing knowing that the lack of basic necessity a life-line such as a bullet-proof vest was not available. Condolence to the families affected is in order. Such requirements in a situation that befits a vest shouldn’t even be compromised. I feel that it shouldn’t even be a secondary feature but a primary feature. Hopefully, that this is a learning opportunity and all officers of any standings being either an officer or a commander will be issued a vest for daily operations.

A380 Advancement in Aviation History.

An amazement that may revolutionize the industry. After 18 months late in delivering the plane to SIA and suffered an estimated US$6 billion in cost over-runs , the Airbus has made its maiden passenger voyage on 25 Oct 07, SQ380 from Changi Airport Singapore to Sydney Australia.

I have seen the documentary at Discovery Channel towards the new technologies and distuptions to the delivery of the Airbus. Imagine with its base at Toulouse, France all the plane parts are assembled from different nations: Germany, France, Spain and UK via Barge, Ship, Air and Road.

I'm a big fan hopefully I can take a trip in it with my wife ;)

Congratulations to SIA & definately Airbus!

Climate Change

Both Al Gore (former US Vice-President) and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) received the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.

This in my feeling is a huge step in recognition of the efforts by them to effect and set ownership of what all individuals can do to change their habits. Only thru everybody effort to change mindsets can we reduce the global warming and rise of the worlds sea level.

I hope that government and organizations can speed up and work together and bring a greener earth - before it is too late.

Man in space

Space has always brought imaginations and wonder towards its many secrets and to what it can bring to humankind. From astronomers such as Galileo Galilei to Albert Einstein human and scientists contribute to knowledge and assumptions of what they perceive are true. We could be surrounded by galaxy or galaxies, by planets or Milky Way. Earth could rotate on its own axis and could orbit around the sun. (Answers to these are the reading and correct interpretation of the Quran and Hadith.)

Our naked eyes see only the moon, sun, some planets and the stars. But scientific instruments bring more than that. Our space explorations get more intense as our thirst for knowledge increases. They are yet more questions being asked than being answered.

Nations race against each other to see who can bring more achievements and new discoveries. Controversies came from angered societies as to the worth of these explorations. Would the millions spent worth just for a few experiments? Would the expense better in good use feeding the poor, develop nations, having basic necessities, better education, increase security, gun control, or help decrease the global warmth?

The aspirations of man are truly great and goals should be set up high… realistically. There should be a balance to as what you can gain compared as to what you should do.

A nation doesn’t proper if its citizens still struggle.

Woo Hoo

I'm so excited.... So many things. Me and my beautiful wife went to COURTS @ Causeway PT (where else) to puchase our household products and appliances. I was delighted at the service and all the things that we need was available and value-for-money. We are not really looking for a hing-end ones just so it could last at least 5-10 years and affordable.

What did we buy?

To start off there was the
1) Conventional Oven with 4 cookers.
2) Cooker Hood
3) Blender
4) Rice Cooker
5) 2 pans

On top of that there was the $90 courts voucher that we receive. Yeah!!

Then we went to my favourite Home-Fix to get a new drill-bit, glass adhesives
and our Kitchen Top Polisher.

Now I can't wait, all of the purchases will be delivered on Tuesday,
I plan to eat McDonalds during break-fast on that day while waiting.

Tommorow there is the 3 days Supervisory Course.
Sounds interesting, hope get the best out of it...
and don't fall asleep :P
