I look forward to Dan Brown's 5th novel Widow's Son:The Solomon Key - which looks into America's history and the Freemasonry. Earliest release would be 2008. I was looking through Wikipedia and stumble on this relevation.

Wow! There's been talk that Angels and Demons film will also be coming up (though no date is set and it is still at its early stage). Yeah! looking forward to that as well...

Dream Vacation

Our Aim - is to plan a trip to a Mid-East country. Our Destination - Cairo, Egypt. To witness the great pyramids on our own. Hopefully we can save enough. The strategy is to budget and not have too much expenses.

We are trying our very best hope our wish will be fulfilled. One way is to walk instead of taking bus to work. Got my wife to drag me all the way to Yew Tee MRT rather than take the feeder service.

Hmmm maybe tonight I can have an evening stroll ;)

Basic Necessities

I am saddened by the news that drug-enforcing officers were killed in a failed bust to a drug syndicate. It seems more depressing knowing that the lack of basic necessity a life-line such as a bullet-proof vest was not available. Condolence to the families affected is in order. Such requirements in a situation that befits a vest shouldn’t even be compromised. I feel that it shouldn’t even be a secondary feature but a primary feature. Hopefully, that this is a learning opportunity and all officers of any standings being either an officer or a commander will be issued a vest for daily operations.

A380 Advancement in Aviation History.

An amazement that may revolutionize the industry. After 18 months late in delivering the plane to SIA and suffered an estimated US$6 billion in cost over-runs , the Airbus has made its maiden passenger voyage on 25 Oct 07, SQ380 from Changi Airport Singapore to Sydney Australia.

I have seen the documentary at Discovery Channel towards the new technologies and distuptions to the delivery of the Airbus. Imagine with its base at Toulouse, France all the plane parts are assembled from different nations: Germany, France, Spain and UK via Barge, Ship, Air and Road.

I'm a big fan hopefully I can take a trip in it with my wife ;)

Congratulations to SIA & definately Airbus!

Climate Change

Both Al Gore (former US Vice-President) and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) received the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.

This in my feeling is a huge step in recognition of the efforts by them to effect and set ownership of what all individuals can do to change their habits. Only thru everybody effort to change mindsets can we reduce the global warming and rise of the worlds sea level.

I hope that government and organizations can speed up and work together and bring a greener earth - before it is too late.

Man in space

Space has always brought imaginations and wonder towards its many secrets and to what it can bring to humankind. From astronomers such as Galileo Galilei to Albert Einstein human and scientists contribute to knowledge and assumptions of what they perceive are true. We could be surrounded by galaxy or galaxies, by planets or Milky Way. Earth could rotate on its own axis and could orbit around the sun. (Answers to these are the reading and correct interpretation of the Quran and Hadith.)

Our naked eyes see only the moon, sun, some planets and the stars. But scientific instruments bring more than that. Our space explorations get more intense as our thirst for knowledge increases. They are yet more questions being asked than being answered.

Nations race against each other to see who can bring more achievements and new discoveries. Controversies came from angered societies as to the worth of these explorations. Would the millions spent worth just for a few experiments? Would the expense better in good use feeding the poor, develop nations, having basic necessities, better education, increase security, gun control, or help decrease the global warmth?

The aspirations of man are truly great and goals should be set up high… realistically. There should be a balance to as what you can gain compared as to what you should do.

A nation doesn’t proper if its citizens still struggle.

Woo Hoo

I'm so excited.... So many things. Me and my beautiful wife went to COURTS @ Causeway PT (where else) to puchase our household products and appliances. I was delighted at the service and all the things that we need was available and value-for-money. We are not really looking for a hing-end ones just so it could last at least 5-10 years and affordable.

What did we buy?

To start off there was the
1) Conventional Oven with 4 cookers.
2) Cooker Hood
3) Blender
4) Rice Cooker
5) 2 pans

On top of that there was the $90 courts voucher that we receive. Yeah!!

Then we went to my favourite Home-Fix to get a new drill-bit, glass adhesives
and our Kitchen Top Polisher.

Now I can't wait, all of the purchases will be delivered on Tuesday,
I plan to eat McDonalds during break-fast on that day while waiting.

Tommorow there is the 3 days Supervisory Course.
Sounds interesting, hope get the best out of it...
and don't fall asleep :P

More Ambigram

As promised I have included two Ambigrams. I always like to make Ambigrams and it have turn out to be a hobby of mine. Recently I visited the site http://www.nagfa.blogspot.com/ it shows quite a number of colourful Ambigrams and I'm really inspired. Hope to make more than black and white soon. The "Hybridity" is an online contest brought by the Webmaster.

My wifey is at my mum's place as my mum has a toothache. So now she's playing with my naughty niece Amy. I can't wait to see her miss her already. Hope my mum's injury is not that bad. Long day today, I'll be going over to town to buy Birthday Bash items for 2 weekends of Birthdays that I'm holding at my workplace ;)

Western Bar

When I was a kid, I vividly recall playing this game: Western Bar either during breaks at primary school or browing my uncle's game. definately was loads of fun. Hoping to get a second-hand one maybe could try my luck at e-bay.

my Art

My love for Ambigram and its wonderful symmetry started when I was reading the novel, Angels and Demons. From there I started doodling and lo and behold created my first ambigram of my wife's name Qristiny. It looks the same when you turn it upside down. In future I will be showing more of the Ambigrams that I did.

Pontian Kechil

My wife and I took off about 5pm yesterday and we were stranded at the jam. Met my in-laws at Johor custom and we made way to our 1-hr trip to Pontian Kechil. After picking up my sis-in-law we made a trip to a seafood restaurant.

Wow the food spread was awesome. We had ikan bakar, sotong bakar, tomyam and kailan with belachan. I love it all and it is way more cheaper than eating at S'pore. After grocery shopping we straight went back as we were tired cause of the day's journey.

The family cat Dagang have given birth to 4 cute kittens. She went to quite a trauma, being very sick and having a miscarriage. But now looking so happy and contented.

I lazed around with my wife siping apple juice and eating banana cake (my favourite). We turned in quite early as tomm we need to go to work pm.

Today, my father-in-law sent us back to S'pore. We went to my mum's place and collect some of out stuff still left there. After that we quickly went back to OUR place and did our favourite pastime... sleep!

did you know?

Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee, (born 8 June 1955) is a British developer who together with Robert Cailliau invented the World Wide Web. Sir Timothy Berners-Lee is the director of the World Wide Web Consortium (which oversees its continued development), and a senior researcher and holder of the 3Com Founders Chair at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL).
While an independent contractor at CERN from June to December 1980, Berners-Lee proposed a project based on the concept of hypertext, to facilitate sharing and updating information among researchers.
In 1989, CERN was the largest Internet node in Europe, and Berners-Lee saw an opportunity to join hypertext with the Internet: "I just had to take the hypertext idea and connect it to the TCP and DNS ideas and — ta-da! — the World Wide Web."
He wrote his initial proposal in March of 1989, and in 1990, with the help of Robert Cailliau, produced a revision which was accepted by his manager, Mike Sendall. He used similar ideas to those underlying the Enquire system to create the World Wide Web, for which he designed and built the first web browser and editor (called WorldWideWeb and developed on NEXTSTEP) and the first Web server called httpd (short for HyperText Transfer Protocol daemon).

The first Web site built was at CERN[4][5][6][7] and was first put online on 6 August 1991. It provided an explanation about what the World Wide Web was, how one could own a browser and how to set up a Web server. It was also the world's first Web directory, since Berners-Lee maintained a list of other Web sites apart from his own. CERN released the web technology into the public domain on 30 April 1993.

my WONDERFUL vacation

22 Jul to 25 Jul 07

I spent a wonderful long weekend with my new wifey at southern thailand - krabi. We stayed at the Verandah a cosy place with warmth and great hospitality. It had awesome spectacle of sceneries and we were awstruck each time we went to a new site.

There was the

- Ao Nang Beach

- Shell Cemetary

- Elephant Ride

- Phranang Cave

- Viking Cave

- Phi Phi Ley & Phi Phi Don (where we scuba dive & went to Maya Bay the site where Leo Di shot the famed - The Beach)

- Bamboo Island

- Mangrove Swamp (kayaking)

The food was fabulous and Halal, we even get to savour the roadside "pancake" the locals' traditional snack.

The rain didn't ruin our trip as u can see from our vast itinerary. We even continued even when we are tired or the sun was scorching.

It was an ultimate dream vacation and my wife gets the credits for spending time planning the trip. Thank you Sayang. Love you.
